What not to do at a blogging conference

Well as much as I had a great weekend, I did make a bit of an idiot of myself on more than one occasion! It is what I do best so would have been hard pushed to get away without any embarrassment at all, it would just never happen!

So here are my top things ‘not to do at a blogging conference’

1) Arrive late looking sweaty and stressed on day one.

2) Look like a stalker

I was chatting with one of my favourite bloggers who I met at the TOT’s 100 blog camp, I say meet,  but if I am honest I didn’t really give her a choice and just waltzed over and said Hi and introduced myself, so this time I was hoping to make a better impression, I am not sure it happened though and I once again I fear I may have looked like a bit of a stalker!  Nickie from Typecast, I apologise

3) Get on the tube going the WRONG WAY on the Saturday morning making me late again and even more stressed and sweaty than on the Friday – there is no hope for me, really there isn’t!

4) Say stupid stupid STUPID things!

Chatting to the lovely Fi from Childcare is Fun and I actually uttered the words, ‘yeah you do childcare and stuff don’t you?’  I have no idea where it even came from but a majorly cringe worthy moment where I wished the world would swallow me up!

5) Run away from the key-note speaker

I was standing near to the lovely Sarah Brown as I really wanted to say hello, she seemed so down to earth and lovely and I am sure we could have been the best of friends, but as soon as she acknowledged I was there I got so nervous I rushed off really quickly without saying a word! Ooppps! She must have thought I was mad!

I could go on but feel I have embarrassed myself enough, if I am feeling brave later on I might post again and share more cringeworthy moments as there are plenty more!

Do you have any embarrassing moments from the weekend? Please share if you do so I am not totally alone!

  1. I bet nobody even noticed as they were too busy worrying about what an idiot they were making of themselves. When I met you at BlogCamp I thought you were very smiley and friendly and immediately put me at ease. You’re your own worst enemy Missy xx

  2. Hi Sinead, I had a very similar moment just trying to get to the conference in one piece! Was this your first mummy blogger conference (apart from a bootcamp)? If it was I think it’s fair to say it takes a bit of time getting into. It’s like meeting lots of new friends, but also working at the same time, isn’t it? P.S. If you fancy a bit of a laugh you are welcome to read about my Bridget Jones moment at BritMumsLive. http://letsgocrabbingmum.com/2012/06/27/having-a-bridget-jones-moment-britmums-live-and-blogging/ Lovely to read your blog btw :)
