This is my first time linking up to The Gallery. I have wanted to a few times but have never actually got around to doing it! Until now.
This weeks theme is Hands. As soon as I saw this I knew I had the perfect picture for it.
This was taken on our wedding day in 2006. I remember when we first got the pictures back, this one was one that my Grandma had asked for a copy of, I laughed because she wanted to put it in a frame and I wondered how anyone would even know it was me! They could be anyone’s hands!
Looking at it now, this is a beautiful photo and reminds me of our wedding day and what a wonderful day it was!
This was six years ago and so much has changed since then, it is very hard to remember it being just us. I often wonder what we ever talked about before the kids came along. It is so easy to get a bit lost with the parenting and the day-to-day chaos that comes with having children and it can be easy to forget that you are a couple as well and not just ‘Mummy and Daddy’. The same couple that are in the picture above……
Ahh that it is a lovely photo. How sweet that your Grandma immediately knew it was a special one. Perhaps its an age thing. And yes, you’re right about how hard it is to remember what it was like just being the two of you. We went away last weekend on our own and we slip quite easily back into just looking after ourselves but I did find myself a bit stuck as to what to talk about after having sort of banning myself from discussing the kids. Actually it was quite nice to enjoy people watching and music and not have to talk! Lovely pic Sinead (and your nails are very nice!)
