Alfie’s Birthday

In amongst all the illness and general chaos that has been the last few weeks we celebrated Alfie’s 2nd Birthday.  I find it is hard to believe he is two already, the time has gone by so fast!

We decided against doing a party this year, I think Alfie would have been too overwhelmed with it all and so we are heading off to Thomas Land instead for a family day out.  We were hoping to go before Christmas and enjoy the Winter Wonderland but time seems to be running away with us and we might have to postpone until the new year, but whenever we finally do get to go I know that Alfie is going to love it.

Alfie had an amazing day, he was a little confused by it all to begin with, his face when the children at play group started singing to him was most amusing, he looked at them like they were all mad! Bless him.  He soon got into the swing of the celebrations and loved ripping the paper off his gifts, but his favourite part of the day it has to be said was the huge birthday cake I made for him! I spent the whole day trying to stop him digging into it and it is fair to say that if he had his way it would have been cake for breakfast!

Here are a few snaps of Alfie’s big day!

Here he is, my beautiful birthday boy (images courtesy of my lovely friend and photographer Jenna Faulkner visit her on Facebook here to see more of her amazing photos!)

My beautiful boy! Happy Birthday!

The Gallery – Planes Trains and Automobiles

We really struggle to know what to get for Liam when it comes to Birthday and Christmas. All we tend to get is the usual teenage grunts of ‘I dunno.’  Two years ago I decided to avoid the usual grunting situation and decided to book something for him.  I had seen some driving experiences on-line that were suitable for teenagers and knew he would love it.

Liam did his test lap in a Subaru, we had been expecting it to be a Mini or a Focus needless to say he was most impressed with the upgrade!  After a few goes round the track in this he moved onto this………

A Ferrari!

After a few laps he even went no handed…….

Happy Birthday to Me!

Last Friday I celebrated my birthday!! We had the day all planned and the tickets were booked.  We were off to the Zoo! The kids were so excited, Little Miss M couldn’t wait to see the Giraffes and Elephants!

Rain, rain, rain and more rain coupled with gale force winds meant no Zoo for us! Instead Hubby and Little Miss M spent the morning making me a delicious birthday cake before we headed out for lunch with my parents.

It was scrummy, I was most impressed! He even did all of the washing up too!

I was very spoilt and got some gorgeous gifts including some brand spanking new GHD’s

I think I have had my old ones for about 5 years now so they have served me well and it was definitely time for an upgrade.  We don’t usually do birthday presents for each other so I was pleasantly surprised to have such a lovely treat!

We had such a lovely day, we are saving the zoo for another time, but if I am totally honest the fact it was raining meant that we spent the day at home with the kids, all together.  I can’t remember the last time we were able to do that .  With Hubby still working silly hours family time is very rare at the moment so it was lovely to just all be together in the same room at the same time for a whole day, in fact it was a whole weekend! Bliss!

So Happy Birthday to me! One more year of my twenties left…….better make it a good one then eh??
