The Gallery – Girls

When I saw the theme for this weeks Gallery, I knew instantly I had the perfect photo.  The theme is girls and here is my photo.

This photo was taken just after Molly was born and it shows 4 generations of my family. My Grandmother, my Mother, me and Molly.  I remember that day like it was yesterday, I was so excited to be visiting my Grandmother for the first time after becoming a Mummy and seeing her face on that day and seeing her with my Daughter was beautiful.  She was so proud.  Molly was her first Great Grandchild.

Molly still talks about “Great Grandma in the sky,”  in June it will be two years since she sadly passed away.  I often feel sad that my children didn’t get to spend much time with her, Alfie will never remember her as he was a tiny baby when she died.  Molly has some lovely memories and I hope these stay with her as she grows.  But I am grateful that she was able to meet both of my babies and those precious memories and pictures will be treasured by me and my children forever.

The Gallery – Books

This weeks theme for The Gallery is books.  Molly adores books, she will sit with her books for hours on end making up little stories to herself. She is a little book-worm in the making!

I used to love to read, I would read all the time but recently I have lost my passion for reading.  There is so much running around my head all of the time there doesn’t seem much room for books at the moment, I don’t sit still for long enough to read anything other than a bed time story to the kids!  I am sure there will come a time when I rediscover my love for books, but for now I will stick to reading The Hungry Caterpillar over and over day in day out.

Before I can actually do this tonight though I had better go and clear up the mound of books they have pulled out of the bookcase this evening whilst I was cooking tea!

The little monkeys!

The Gallery – Sky

This week’s theme for The Gallery was Sky.  I took this photo last weekend, we had been celebrating a friends birthday with a BBQ at their house, the sun was shining, the kids had a ball playing in the paddling pool and running round like loonies with their friends and me and my husband had a great time catching up with our friends!

I took this photo just as the sun was starting to set. The sky looked amazing and this photo doesn’t really do it justice if I am honest.

The Gallery – Street Photography

I took this photo when I was in London for BritMums Live in June.  Some of you may have seen it before as I used it for my Silent Sunday the weekend after, but here is the story behind the picture!

I LOVE London, and it is not often I get to visit our beautiful Capital City, so any trip to London is an adventure for me! We stayed in a hotel near Tower Bridge and wandered down by the river to get something to eat on the Saturday night. My friend laughed at me when we were on the train home as I had about 50 photos of Tower Bridge on my camera, this one was my favourite, I think although it is not the best photo I have ever taken (I am not a photographer and don’t really know how to use my camera, I am more of a point, shoot and hope for the best kinda girl if I am honest!) it is so dramatic and I love it! Memories for me of a great weekend!

Whilst wandering back to the hotel that night we met an amazing Photographer who was taking photos of the bridge.  If you have time please check out his photographs, they are some of the most beautiful shots of London I have seen.

The Gallery – Planes Trains and Automobiles

We really struggle to know what to get for Liam when it comes to Birthday and Christmas. All we tend to get is the usual teenage grunts of ‘I dunno.’  Two years ago I decided to avoid the usual grunting situation and decided to book something for him.  I had seen some driving experiences on-line that were suitable for teenagers and knew he would love it.

Liam did his test lap in a Subaru, we had been expecting it to be a Mini or a Focus needless to say he was most impressed with the upgrade!  After a few goes round the track in this he moved onto this………
